Five Questions with Robert Draper (far right),
Portfolio Manager at Marietta Investment Partners
1. Tell us about your business!
Marietta Investment Partners is an independent investment advisory firm. We work with individuals, families, and organizations to invest their assets in a way that is best designed to reach their goals. We also help clients simplify the complex questions that are a part of managing wealth, such as transferring money in the family, educating the next generation about handling finances, and building or planning a legacy.
2. When did you start your business and what drew you to Milwaukee?
Marietta opened its doors in February 2000, and we are going on 20 years strong in Milwaukee. Our founder, John Evans, is a born and raised Milwaukeean, and most of the firm's original members were also raised within this community. Milwaukee has a robust financial services industry so it has been a great fit to grow our business in this city. Marietta has deep roots here. In fact, we are named after our founder's home street, Marietta Avenue!
3. Do you have a special connection to the Maryland Avenue Montessori School?
Yes! My son, William, is currently a K-4 student at Maryland Avenue Montessori School. It has been a wonderful experience to get to know and become a part of the MAM family. We are excited to watch our kids grow with our new friends in such in such a supportive and nurturing environment.
4. What is something about your work you are particularly proud of?
At Marietta, all of our members are dedicated to developing strong personal relationships with our clients so we can really get to know their unique situations. It takes time to build these connections and I am rewarded to work with colleagues who enjoy the process of becoming trusted advisers to our clients.
5. Why did you choose to sponsor Springfest?
At Marietta Investment Partners, we are proud to be a part of the greater Milwaukee community. We believe that when a good cause succeeds, all of us are better off. Marietta is a small firm but we have supported over 18 local organizations. We think that MAM has a great mission to serve families across Milwaukee, and we wanted to support that too.
Thank you to Rob and Marietta for supporting Springfest! Each week leading up to the event, we will shine a spotlight on one of our corporate sponsors, exploring their story within our community. We hope you enjoy getting to know these valued friends of Maryland Avenue Montessori.
The Maryland Avenue Montessori Fund is dedicated to enriching the education of children attending Maryland Avenue Montessori School by supporting projects and programs that enhance the educational community and support the mission of the school.
